As the youngest among five siblings, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev's father was an ophthalmologist, and his mother was a homemaker.
Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev finished his schooling at Demonstration School in Mysore and pursued his pre-university education at Mahajana Pre-University College.
Following that, Sadhguru pursued his undergraduate studies, achieving a Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Mysore.
Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev attained the second position in his college during his literature studies.
Despite his parents' wish for Sadhguru to pursue postgraduation, he opted for a career in business.
Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev ventured into entrepreneurship with the establishment of a poultry farm in Mysore. Presently, he holds the position of founder and leader at the Coimbatore-based non-profit organization, Isha Foundation.
